Tour to Southern Valley

The Southern Valley tour Cusco will take you to an area of a beauty and a place full of history. You will visit a mix of Colonial archeological places, Inca and Pre-Inca sites, that show an instant image of the history of Cusco over more than 800 years. First, you are going to visit some of the churches of the colonial era in the suburbs of Cusco, touring the valley stopping in the town of Huasao, which is known for its shamans, before arriving at the beautiful Inca water temple in Tipon. From Tipon we continue to the extensive Pre-Inca site of Pikillacta that was built by the Wari culture that occupied the Cusco region before the arrival of the Inca. Finally you will visit the church of Andahuayillas which is known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas because of its impressive ornaments and decorations.

Visit to the Archaeological Complex of Tipon: Archaeological site where we will be able to appreciate the hydraulic engineering of the Inca and their horizontal and vertical irrigation channels built on stepped terraces.
Visit to Andahuaylillas: Traditional town where in the main plaza is located church well-known as the “Sistine Chapel of America” and inside we find beautiful Baroque wall paintings and a collection of painting from the Cusqueña School.
Visit to the Pre-Inca Archaeological Complex of Pikillacta: One of the best preserved pre-Inca sites in Peru and the only pre-Inca site in the Cusco area. It was built by the Huari around 700 -900 AD.
