First day: Cusco – Patabamba
After the pick up at 9:00 am we leave Cusco by bus to the nearby town of Corao. Some minutes later, we will pack all our belongings and will walk toward the palace of Inca Ripac, a historical place, where the guide will give us an historic interpretation of the place. Then, we’ll climb to the northwest hill and we`ll pass the Qoricocha Lagoon, where we have our snack and rest. After we will descend toward the town of Patabamba, where we will pitch our tents overnight. During the afternoon we will walk in the streets of this picturesque town to visit the different Andean weavings associations, and observe their techniques. The guide will interpret some of the main iconographies of these weavings, all of them are made with materials of the local environment since Inca times. (L, D).
Second Day: Patabamba – Huch’uy Qosqo
After breakfast, we will walk uphill to the archaeological site of Qhapac Cancha, This site is perfect for observing almost the entire Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then we will descend to the town of Siwa, where we will stop some moments to observe the roof building techniques using straw in this picturesque town. The town is a welcoming place for a brief rest and lunch. After lunch, we continue toward the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, where we will camp, and after a good rest our guide will provide an explanation for this beautiful place, protected by the snow capped of Sawasiray and Pitusiray, two important Apus of the Sacred Valley of the Inca. Third Day: Huch’uy Qosqo – Chinchero – Cusco
After a healthy breakfast we will climb northeast to the Yanaqhaqa, and after passing the forest valley of the Canyon of Pucaqaqa, we’ll arrive to the pre-inca terraces of Lucre culture, where we do a stop for resting then we’ll climb up to Wallataqasa Pass (4240 m./13,910 ft.) where we will see the landscape of the authentic Andean Highlands. Then after enjoying this site we will descend to Tauca Village(3850 m./12,631 ft.) near of the lagoon of Piuray, where a bus is waiting for us. Some minutes later after the pick-up we will drive about 15 minutes to Chinchero, where we will stop for shopping and visiting the market place.(B, L, D). End of Service
